Got me self one at the NEC, had a browse back threw this section checking posts ect, should be fitting it in the next week or so and just wondered if anyone had any advice before i do. Got the one about taping delivey pipes (stumped up for the duel injector as advised) into the injector and will do, figured on mounting it under the seat anything else? Also just checking but am assuming by the instructions (spanner numpy ) that i splice the T piece into the pipe connecting carbs 1-4 together (at the front of the carb) under the tank. Thanxs in advance

Ok , let us know how you get on with it, i thought about getting one for years, but some how was put off. Is it better than Lubing yourself, Lube tends to stay put, where's the oil in those things just get thrown all over..... or not, am i right or wrong...

"the mess on the thingyarm washes of easy an doesnt bother me. M8 says it was easy to fit." Hi Brakey, no expert on this but according to the little book of distructions that came with the oiler you can adjust the flow rate of the oil (dail on top of RMV). It should be set to do 1 drop of oil every 2 minutes, standard setting should be about 2 on the dial but this depends on the climate/temperature (lower for warmer climates higher for colder ect) that may stop the messy swingarm thing. Also read somewhere on the net that you can use chainsaw oil or car gearbox oil in them will try and find post again and do a link. cheers Pip

I had one fitted in Feb when I get the S. It takes a while to get the dial to the correct setting but now there is certainly no mess on the swing arm. Fitted in FEb and I have not had to adjust the chain once. Keep checking it of course. Like has been said the oil just wipes off anyway if it does splash and make a mess.

Just curious wardourdrive but how is delivery tube and injector attached to swinging arm, standard fitment seems to be with cable ties which i think looks crap so i was going to try some kind of apoxy resin to glue fitments to the arm. Maybe araldite, chemical metal anyone got any ideas whats best as i only want to do it once! Superglue is included in the kit, but has a warning saying it won't stick to all alloys and you only get one chance to position mounting.

I've never looked. i know it goes around the inside of the swing arm so it is not easy to spot.
I will have a look at the weekend when I am about during day light and maybe try to get some pictures ;D

Just my personal opinion sir , but having had several bikes fitted with Scottoilers using the cable ties, I wouldn't try and glue the parts to metal The cable ties keep the parts secure, and you could always look for clear ones or maybe even grey to match the swingarm rather than black, if it's the clash of colours that you don't like. Cable ties allow quick release of the components in the event you need to do so...just snip them off and replace with new ones I once had a problem with the main oil resevoir and needed to take it off to clean it thoroughly.....snip and it was off I don't think glue would be successful, and it would forever suffer at the hands of the elements, rain, oil debris etc Scottoilers are absolutely superb, and I really will have to get one in the new year

I hate the damn things. Ugly as fook and messy.
Modern chains and a decent maintenance regime should render them obsolete.

Well its fitted, took a couple of hours but the instructions were very good, just work threw the stages one at a time. Mounted the RMV under the seat and spliced into the breather pipe from the fuel tap under the tank. Took your advice FLOOG (cheers ) and cable tied the duel injector to the swingarm and to be fair it don't look as bad as i thought it would. Haven't done a proper road test yet as it ain't stopped raining here for days but did take the bike round round the block to see if it worked. The swingarm rear wheel and tyre are all lub free but there was a bit on the swingarm brace, wipes of easy so quite happy with that. Will get round to posting some pictures, but Lou's misplaced the camera software cd so bit stuffed at the mo. cheers Pip

Well done sir. You won't regret it. A superb bit of kit, and I've nothing but praise for what they do. Don't forget to experiment with the flow rate, until it suits you, the conditions and the fling off rate. Don't overfill the resevoir as it WILL seep out Keep the oil resevoir clean, and the dual injector lines as they can get pretty dirty and hide any signs of a leak. Tape the injector ends to the main body with PVC tape (it hardly notices and stops them disappearing off the rear (in an emergency I adapted a bic biro and some tape) Photos when possible please
