As Snoopy has pointedout. With the upright riding position you probably don't unless you happen to be a big cuddly Rexer. The only reason I have one on mine is that it was fitted as a courtesy by the dealer I bought it off. Never asked for it, I t just appeared along with 12 months Road tax, instead of the usual 6 that dealers give you and a FULL tank of juice as part of the package. The tank pad itself is a very good imitation carbon fiber jobbie. I have a lot of black on my bike anyway and have since added a couple of genuine Carbon fibre parts so it doesn't look out of place. I really don't feel inclined to risk damaging the tank in getting it off as it appears to be quite well stuck. Another feature of my tankpad which is a little unusual is that it has a white border around the carbon fiber and this has the added benefit of glowing in the dark. :hmm: Very unusual, not seen one like that before.

Some members, those of the "drooped chest" persuasion, may have an issue with their jacket zipper touching the REX tank. The rest of us

Must be invaluable in ensuring ya try to put yer key in the right bike in the dark, after one of those foggy evenings spent in the pub, eh?

Some members, those of the "drooped chest" persuasion, may have an issue with their jacket zipper touching the REX tank. Very soon after the purchase of the majestic grey the rubber coating on one of me jacket poppers delaminated. Result four large scratches on tank. Its relaxed musle and excess energy not a dropped chest. Result Tank Pad to cover it up. Micheal no its not a majestic grey one its black and red.
