Just a thought but would anyone be interested in a ZRXUK meeting in FRANCE, HOLLAND, SPAIN or some other 'forrin' location?? Obviously I have not a clue about destinations or prices as yet, but in theory, it would mean a jaunt to the ferry or Euro funnel perhaps en masse nipping over to johnny foreign land and booking some accommodation.... Would be a nice touch if not too expensive :broke: If there was some interest and we had enough notice for getting time off work etc, it could be possible......

How does this man think of these things?? If Spain´s not too far (about 1150 miles from Calais) I would happily be your Alicante guide. Being on site as it were I should be able to source accommodation as well. The best suggestion I can make at the moment is choose your timing carefully. At the moment it is 94 degrees here (don´t forget we´re an hour ahead), no breeze while you´re riding just a warm draught!!

Thanks for the input SUNNYZRX I hadn't even thought about you over there in lovely Alicante Probably a little too far distance wise for most of us, but, hey let's see what the peeps think :hmm: I was probably thinking more on the lines of France as, a location could be found within easy reach of the crossing point, and that way we'd have less travelling time and more fun time, but input is welcomed from all quarters We've got anything up to a year to sort it out, so let's see how ideas go.....if at all.....

There´s always the possibility I could have a week and head up through France. Le Mans is still partly public road isn´t it?

Now that's worth thinking about monsieur Meeckel .....I just had a quick peek on the Euro Funnel website A trip out on 26th and back on 29th for example was in the region of £70. They also do cheap travel insurance. If we picked a spot not TOO many miles into France, and secured some reasonably priced accommodation, it wouldn't cost a lot more than we paid for the FOD..... and we'd have a year to plan it and save for it

Most excellent idea all round. Of course if you wantred to go to Alicante you could get ferry from Portmouth overnight it to the place in Spain ( I forget of course) Ride to Alicante, nip into Gib cus the petrol is cheap and spend £ instead of Euro. Cost a couple hundred ££ for the ferry of course so France gets my vote of course. There are loads of bike friendly places run by Brit bikers, I can probably come up with a list of places pretty easily

Plenty of time so don't break yer neck so to speak... Many thanks

2007 is the 100 year anniversary for the TT in case anyone didn't know No idea how true it is but I read somewhere that the IOM is pretty much fully booked already thanks to it being the centenary year and all that. I like the idea of nipping across the channel to France though, particularly if we can meet some ZRX21 members. Does anybody here speak the lingo? If so we could contact ZRX21 via their website. A couple of them are registered here but haven't posted in ages.
