Hi all, I've just come back to the fold after being away from bikes for some years. I wanted a Kawasaki and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the ZRX1200R on the web. Needless to say I'm getting one soon. The pic was taken in 1984 with my then pride and joy. I'm the handsome young fellow in the white shirt and the GPz1100 is mine. The other chap is my old biking mate, Kev, who now lives in the states and rides a Harley Regards one and all, Kelv. (Counting the days.........)

Welcome to the :uk: You'll find the REX somewhat similar to your GPz, but with updated performance all round. The S version is probably closer to the riding environment of the GPz, but some of us prefer the wind-in-the-face feeling of the R. Let us know what your getting and post some photos once it's in your hands!

:hello: and Welcome to the Sunny site of ZRXUK. :sunny: Great looking bikes, timeless classics. Back then i had the GS750. Loved that, what happend to that line Mr Suzuki..? There are some brand new Green ZRX's about, but you'll have to search for them. But it'll be worth the look. What are you riding now?

84, that would be a Katana for me, riding position very similar to the Rex. Welcome Kelv, I take it that when you say your getting one soon, that youve got one on order

Thanks for the welcome. I'm booking some refresher lessons with camrider, so I should be reasonably up to speed when the time comes. I'll never forget the feeling I had when I picked up the GPz from the Kwak shop, and can't wait to feel it again. Cheers all Kelv

Hi Kev Welcome to the club mate Im sure you'll be riding a Rex soon, just take it easy for a while when you do get on the beast. Like the mule in Arabian Nights (Banana Splits) it can kick if you pull its tail too hard Back in '84 I was riding a GS550, my first proper big bike after passing my test a year earlier on a GT250

Welcome to the site, I've had many bikes over the years but one of my favourites had to be GPZ1100 I had one identical to your one the early Nineties, absolutely loved the bike. But it's got to be said, I have found the ZRX even better. Saying that I wouldn't say no if someone gave me a GPZ1100 as a second bike.

I know I've taken my time, and probably missed the 'summer', but I've finally oerdered my ZRX! I pick the Lawson replica up from the Kwak shop on 1st Sept (new reg poser). I even got to choose my reg no and chose the suffix DFV. Those of you who like old F1 cars will know how popular the Cosworth DFV was in the 60's and 70's when they drove real racing cars. The wife has been very patient, following me around Heine Gericke, Infinity etc while I get togged up. Here's hoping for sunshine on the 1st.
