What a fantastic story Lightspeed. He's only a couple of years younger than my late Father would have been and at 85, he was already having trouble walking. He'd already given up biking long long ago. At 84 Mr Fenwick was being beaten into second place by some cheeky young whippersnapper. and It's not the winning it's the competing. Long may he continue.

Did that 80 something year old guy (he'd won his class several years in a row, but came in second last year and was out to get the title back this year) finish/accomplish his goal?

That's him, riding an old Duc! Looks like he's finally been overtaken by some younger blood. What a legacy though!!!

That's him, riding an old Duc! Looks like he's finally been overtaken by some younger blood. What a legacy though!!! It's not the winning it's the competing. I was told 12 years ago by one of my daughters after the birth of our second grandchild, to grow up, act my age and stop riding motorbikes. She was the daughter with the missing gene as she never did like bikes.
So far I've managed not to: - Grow up
- Act my age
- or stop riding bikes
I did however manage to spark off an almighty row after sitting my toddler grandson on the seat of Rex for a snap for the family album.
I'm willing to bet that Mr Fenwick never had to put up with that sort of abuse.
