Ive actually been out on the bike this year While putting the bike away and spraying it with FS365, I noticed that the metal pipework for the cooling systen is looking very dire I want to replace it, but is it an easy enough job to do, I think its 3 pipes in total One from the N/S of the engine with the drain plug fitted, one is in front of the engine and looks to be fitted in 2 places, and im sure there was a third aswell also any ideas of cost??

The hardest one is the one across the front of the engine that sort of just plugs in. Its very soft and easily distorted, but I guess if you are getting new ones, with new seals, it shouldn't be too hard to do. Just make sure you get it absolutely square before you push it home

Not that bad really just keep everything nice & square & use red rubber grease or vaselene on re-assembly. I took mine off recently & had them powder coated. Came up like new.
Cost about £30, but that was with the rack, rear springs & rad shrouds as well.

Ill goto the local dealers tomorrow and find out if they have them in stock, they really let the bike down, wouldnt even be worth sanding down as there already twice as thick with rust

Keep my entire engine soaked in WD40, 22000 miles later and there still good as new and shes seen her share of rain/salt ect over the years, just starting to loose engine paint in a few places now but nothing serious and easily touched in.

Nothing like getting a price from the main dealer to make you decide to strip and repair/repaint the offending parts
£180 give or take

Not looking forward to the pipe behind the exhaust system, looks to be a nightmare to get to, might have to bite the bullet and replace that part altogether

You obviously have to take the exhaust off to get to it but once thats done just 2 bolts hold the pipe in place. Once these are out it's just a case of persuading it out a bit at a time. The seal is with rubber O rings so you would be wise to replace those.

I've got 2 tins of paint I can use for repainting the pipes, but which do you think will be better
Satin black Hammerite Black high temp exhaust paint

I'd powdercoat myself but hammerite would do best out of the 2 options you give. No need for high temp stuff as they don't get that hot really.
