went for a quick spin on the ped today as I wanted to pop down the shop and could not be bothered getting in the car, anyway sets off and thinks, these brakes are a bit spongey, on the way home went to brake and thought, that's not supposed to happen, as the brake lever touched the handlebars without any forward momentum retardation. when I get home, start a little investigating to find that the brake hose to the front caliper is covered in oil. whip it off to find that brake hose is weeping in two places, anyway I thinks, that's not too much of a problem, got the old braided hoses from the Majestic, I'll fit one of them, who would have thought that the hose on a ped is longer than on a 1200cc bike anyway in a fit on engineering madness, I heath robinsoned a connector and connected one front and the rear hose together, it taint pretty but appears to be working okay. also found out the horn had packed up so have ordered a new one, when that arrives will whip the plastics back off and fit it, at the same time will take a photo. I hate chinese mopeds.

:hmm: Just keep replacing bits when they break with parts you've got laying about and soon she'll be riding a REX

well the new horn arrived and is now fitted as promised a pic of the magnificent engineering job I did to get the rex's old brake hose's to fit. This is heath robinson at its best its the double banjo that normally fits on the master cylinder, normal copper washer's, then a big spacer I found in the garage bolted together with one of my old rear disc nuts, then using a bolt (the only one with the right thread I could find) covered in Locktite Thread Seal to block the hole at the bottom of the banjo.

Looks like a "quality" improvement/mod there. Should last as long as the ped.

That rather makes ny arse twitch. Don't thing you should bodge brakes; they are the only thing between you and a severe headachen and gravel rash
