Turns out that the rear spindle was the wrong way in Ive changed the spindle round so that the nut you tighten is on the oposite side to the exhaust thus giving more clearance , but the kickstart was stil just touching the exhaust ....Angle grinder to the rescue ive shaved enough off the kickstart to clear the exhaust now so jobs a good un And jobs a good un i knew you would get it sorted

The kickstart looks like it was an aftermarket one all shiney and new but not smooth enough to give clearence to the exhaust . Looking at a lot of second hand exhausts they all seem to have that deep gouge in them caused by the same thing Now ive made enough clearence it wont touch the nice repair job ive already done Things you can do with an angle grinder eh

It's probably "pot metal" so likely wouldn't stand a straightening attempt though.

It dont look like its been bent lighty , although there is the slight play in the linkage knuckle that you always get when you turn the kickstart out . Its defo not the original kickstart , nearly everything on the bike has been replaced ground up so like a total re build . Only problem ive to fix now is the cable to the autolube 2 stroke pump if i want it without pre mix , the cable comes ajoined to the throttle cable but the guy who had it before me just snipped off the old cable and left it hanging Taking the side casing to the oil pump , it dont look that hard to re thread the new cable in but then its got to be set up correctly and the pump bled . So for now ill stick with the ole pre mix , at least then i wont risk melting the piston

If it;s a replacement kickstarter, I bet its a softer metal than the original and the splines will wear much quicker causing a sloppy fit

:hmm: It took me quite a while to skim a bit off the kickstarter with the angle grinder Burchy so its tough stuff ...any how its all working a treat now thanks to that bit of grinding

This angle grinder is my dads that i borrowed , by the time he gets it back i think all the blades will be worn down kev So much you can do and fix in a jiffy with it and if you cant fix it just grind it off and start again Yeah that's the beauty of em alright sparky the grinder i've got i have had for over 10 years never let me down and i bought it second hand it's grinded and build quite a few cars and bikes in that time plus manny other things. This will make ya laught the last thing i used it on was my granddaughters dummy she had a habit of putting it in her mouth the wrong way and getting it stuck so i ground the plastic round instead of its origional egg shape the poor thing another job done
