I got a request from Gary Mason to join his Fan Page on Facebook about a week ago, so I left a little message on his wall telling him how we have followed his last season, and how zrxuk has followed James Buckingham too before he retired. Well alas, Gary Mason replied today, top man. Not often you have a convo between the factory Kwak rider in BSB Here it is... "Hey Gary...been following you last season since James Buckingham had to retire. We followed the team at zrxuk.co.uk closely as some of the members knew JB and he did some work for some of our members down the west country. Then we followed you and were so pleased you got a factory Kawasaki ride mate, hope you have lo...ts of success this year, we'll all be routing for you and Simon too! Have a safe season from all at zrxuk." the responses.. Gary Mason thank you for all your support.. hopefully we'll have a good season... if you come to any of the rounds Pete come and say hello Cheers Gaz Pete Burch Most likely be Brands and Thuxton as they're the nearest to me. Thanks for the reply, that has made my day lol! Top man Gary Mason See ya at brands then buddy... :-) Hope he and the guys do well this season, might be a good year for Team green

Gary Mason and Simon Andrews form MSS Colchester Kawasaki's British Superbike line-up for 2010 Reigning British Superbike Cup champion Gary Mason will return to the championship class in 2010 after being confirmed alongside Simon Andrews at MSS Colchester Kawasaki.
The 30-year-old put in a series of giant-killing performances on a two-year old Honda prepared by Quay Garage this season, scoring 18 class wins and a series of top ten results overall, as well as a historic front row start at Thruxton.
He has since been rewarded for his efforts with an opportunity to compete with MSS Colchester Kawasaki, a team that enjoyed a reversal of fortunes in 2009 to get on the podium and finish the season sixth and seventh in the overall standings.
A return to the championship class for Mason, who last competed in 2006, he is delighted to be given the opportunity to join a front-running team.
"I can't begin to tell you what this means to me,” he beamed. “I've spent the last four years of my career to get back to this point. It's all I've ever wanted, to be back in a top team in BSB - it's a dream come true.
“The 2009 ZX-10 was good but I know it's going to get even better. This is a big year for me and I've got to make it happen; it's taken me a long time to get back and there's no way I'm going to let up now. I've got consistency plus we're going to have a great bike and I know it can win races.”
Andrews, meanwhile, returns for a second term aboard the ZX-10R after a breakthrough season in which he emerged as a regular podium contender, eventually achieving the feat at Cadwell Park.
With no intention of leaving Kawasaki, Andrews also took the time to welcome Mason to the team, the 30-year-old replacing Julien Da Costa for 2010.
"I never wanted to leave Kawasaki as the people are amazing. There's a lot of technical support and information coming our way in 2010.
“I'm excited that Gary is joining the team as we get on well and it'll be good to have a team-mate with a similar style. I've never known him as hungry as he is now, but there's no one more hungry than me. It's going to be a good season.”

Kawasaki back on track but focused on set-up MSS Colchester Kawasaki hit the track for the first time this season at Guadix with Simon Andrews and Gary MasonMSS Colchester Kawasaki insists there is much more to come from its package after spending three days testing new equipment in preparation for the 2010 MCE British Superbike Championship season. Having skipped the first group test at Cartagena, Kawasaki joined Swan Honda, HM Plant Honda, Worx Crescent Suzuki and Ridersmotorcycles.com Ducati for an outing at Guadix instead, with Simon Andrews and newcomer Gary Mason focusing on chassis set-up and electronics. Indeed, team owner Nick Morgan admits he would have liked one more day to test the bike around the Spanish circuit, although two further dates on British soil are planned before the Brands Hatch opener. “If I'm honest we needed one more day,” he said. “We tested so much stuff and found good direction that I know tomorrow would have been great for those morale boosting times but ultimately that's not what we're here for anyway. We've got some spot on reference points for both chassis and the new electronics package and the guys kept to their jobs, taking a section of the testing each. For Andrews, who set an unofficial best time of 1min 14.9secs, the test was a chance for him to acquire data aboard the ZX-10R as he looks to build on a promising first season with Kawasaki in 2010. “I've got to say I ache now, there's no way you can train for the physical pressures of riding. We now know the electronics work well from the get go and we have some good data. We also found some kit that didn't work so well which is good to discover here rather than at a race. But a very worthwhile test for sure.” Mason, meanwhile, made his debut in Kawasaki colours at Guadix, the reigning Mirror.co.uk Cup Champion joking he still has his 'L plates' with regards to learning the bike. “The last time I rode a bike seems like a year ago, you really need a couple of days to get back in the swing of it! We worked through so much equipment, the team were well prepared and I felt at home with the way they work immediately. To be fair I still have the L plates on but I know come Brands Hatch I'll be right up there!” Gary on his Kawasaki

MSS Colchester Kawasaki has taken the wraps off the newly-sponsored Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R that Simon Andrews and Gary Mason will campaign in the 2010 British Superbike Championship.MSS Colchester Kawasaki has revealed its new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R at the 2010 British Superbike Championship (BSB) media launch at a windy Bedford Autodrome. The machine has been designed in-keeping with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R road bike, but with additional branding from new high-profile sponsors Maxxis Tyres, Mac Tools and Confused.com. Riders Simon Andrews and Gary Mason were similarly in attendance to show off their new Gimoto leathers, Shoei helmets and clothing from Hornee jeans, who also sponsor the team itself. The Essex-based squad completed a very fruitful test at Brands Hatch last week before the series returns to the historic Kent circuit for round one of twelve over the Easter weekend (2-5 April).
