While I am a fan of BSB, I was not impressed with Dinington today. A certain lack of people, most of the in field was blocked off by building work, or lack of it ,just piles of soil. Main BSB races where not impressive, mainly Airwaves Yamaha dominating the first race with Camier predicatably winning. All Supporting races where a little better, with Kawasaki coming in top 6 Second BSB race was red flagged I think after 2 laps with Harris crashing around Cranner with something on the track. The restart started to look like a 1 horse race again until Camier seemed to break down, certainly made it more interesting. Fair play to him though he did get back to the points from way back behind the last rider, Watanobie (crap Japanese Suzuki rider), who just disappeared. Rain held off with just a couple of splashes at the end, enough fo them to declare the last 125 race a wet one. For me this was the best race of the day, alot of close action and the leader finally getting mugged at the last curve. Roll on the next one at Thruxtron next weekend, hopefully will be more entertaining.

Ended up going after all, but was a bit last minute.
First time Trish n I had been to a BSB meet or any kind of national level event. Have to agree with wardourdrive about race one of the superbikes, although there were some good scraps down the lower orders, just don't ask me who they were as I don't know the names.
The superstock and supersport racers were entertaining and as I've spent the last couple of weeks watching the road racing I even recognised some of the names in the Superstock race eg Conor Cummins, John McGuinnes and Alastair Seeley who had a great ride to fight his way to the front and take the win
All in all a very enjoyable day

It was definitely empty, the pit walk was cut short as well so mascot only got 1 signature For me Steve Plater winning his race was excellent and the final 125 race of the day was a high light, even though most had left by then. Next for us will probably be Snetterton, hopefully, then Mallory, no Thruxton for us. Seems Guintoli broke his Tibia and Fibula so will be out for 8-10 weeks

Chris Walker featured in much of race 1 as well just getting shuffled back a bit as the race wore on. Re the crowds, folk started leaving as soon as the second BSB race had finished. Trish and I talked at length about this, after all you're given an approximate finish time for the event, why not stay? So often at sporting events people start to leave well before the conclusion of the event, be it football, athletics or bike racing. Then we watched the start of the 125 race right up to the race being stopped due to the rain and the beat our own hasty retreat as the rain came down. Wish we'd stopped for the re-start now... hay ho... Discussed Snetterton with Trish as a possible weekend camping trip, though having checked the calender it is the week before we have a family event at Centre Parcs. Mallory looks possible, as does Croft. I'd quite like to do Oulton, even if that the only one I do as that's my birthday weekend. We'll see how it pans out but we will definitely do at least one other meet this year after having enjoyed Donington so much. ;D
