Was watching Star Wars last night, dunno if any of you guys saw it, but when darth vadar :weakest: came on the screen, the first thing that popped into my head was that his face/mask thing looked very similar to the new REX bikini fairing, almost identical infact......couldn't believe it

........... and the front of the old GPZ.... Now if Kwak were to revamp and reintroduce that I'd be banging on my local dealers doors well before opening time. As for the new ZRX? Not so sure. I think it'd need to be a great deal different and improved in some mysterious way to get me to part with my hard earned and more to the point the Rex I've already got.

You know the more i look at this, the more i like it, or the more i think it's a natural progression/development (bearing in mind what it is) to the REX. I mean it's not like developing a bike like the Ninja 600. ( Production note from Kawasaki boss to design team - make 600 lighter/faster/more powerful/less emission/racy looking/add a few gizmo's/new paint work..etc etc ) What can you do to a icon like the ELR and it's ZRX brothers to make it better, make improvements but still keep the ethos around the original concept of the ELR image. Not a lot to keep the purists happy i think, and i do class us in this little forum (and others like it) as purists. Kawasaki have to make some developments on a theme to justify the continuance of production, and this "new" ZRX is a development, such as the ZRX1100 on to the ZRX1200 or the R onto the S (tho some may not agree) Now bearing in mind the "new" REX may take a year or 2 to get here in the UK, buy that time, i might be thinking of changing, that choice will be made easier for me, if there is another :zrx: in the show rooms. (but yes YB, i still want the ZZR1400)

Now if Kwak were to revamp and reintroduce that I'd be banging on my local dealers doors well before opening time. They did. It was called the GPZ1100E,available in the mid-90's & now available everywhere for £800. . . ;D The more i look at that DEAG thing, the more i dislike it . I guess the original 1100/1200R is just near perfect to look at. How can you improve on that? Looks to me like this bike is just change for changes sake. . .
