He's a nice lad. We do favours for each other. He went to school with my daughter. . . and he supplies me with bellypans. . . His BSB Fireblade is the one that Michael Rutter (& Michael Laverty on occasions)rode last season. I helped rub last seasons' livery off 3 sets of bodywork. In return,he fits my tyres for free. . . & makes me cups of tea! Oh...and he lives just up the road. . . ;D

I have to agree with Floog on this, to be able to get close to and help James on his way up in BSB is a great thing. You are certainly not just like me, a spectator, you are part of the whole thing. I will definitly try to sneak an hello if I can get down to see him at Mallory Park in the weekend of 4th June. Pics to follow hopefully. Now sneak him a sticker theres a nice chap

Its funny how people must think of James as a kinda celebrity at racetracks...but Mrs Snoops & me were talking earlier how we cant think of him like that. Weve known him(& his daughter who went to school with my other daughter & his parents etc)for so long,we just think of him as a kid down the road. He certainly doent act the "big star" around the town. He just works in his dads tiny back street motorbike shop, fixing scooters & old bikes for £120 a week & sells the odd car & comes out on his mountain bike on a Saturday and gets muddy just like he has for the last 10 years... You wouldnt believe the conditions that bike gets prepared in. Its in a little back room with one oil stained light bulb, about 8 feet by 12 feet, all stacked up with boxes of rubbish. Its how the un-sponsored riders do it. Then they still go racing in a Mercedes Sprinter with a caravan on the back...a far cry from ahe so called factory stars...thats why its so satisfying when he out qualifies the Rizla boys & the highly paid factory riders. Oh,the inside imformation i could tell you. The bitching. The "stars" excuses. The downright underhandedness of the big boys(mainly Cresent Rizla). The un fairness of BSB. The way that money outweighs talent...oh boy, theyd never print it in MCN. . . !!!

Come on MR BIKESNOOPY Sir, spill the beans.....give us a few morcels of information.....dish some dirt..... They don't know who you are, and you could change the names of the parties you are dissing to protect their true identity... For example, if it's the Crescent Suzuki squad you could call them the CRASH- HAT SALAMANDER team, and we'll know who you mean......

Ok...one a day & thats all... The privateers are unable to compete with the factory teams on the track, purely due to their tyres. They are not allowed to buy the latest super tyres as the factory teams have exclusive use(& they dont want to get beaten up by a privateer racing on 5% of their budget). The tyre manufacturers REFUSE to let the privateers buy the tyres, because the factory teams tell them not to. The latest tyre is a special triple compound 200 section. James is still racing on last years 205 dual compound. The "old" tyres only keep up for about 10 laps after which theyre finished. The new tyres just go on to the end of the race. This is why James usually holds his own...even takes a few scalps early in the race. Then you see him-& all the privateers fall back. This is because the tyres have gone off. He also qualifies well...often out performing a lot of big names-regularly getting on the 3rd row-sometimes the 2nd,because all the qualifying tyres are very similar. Given equal equipment,he would be racing-and beating-with the big boys and dont they know it. Look at last yaer's Superbike races at Castle Combe where he rode John Reynold's GSXR1000 for the day. He qualified 2nd on the full grid, finished 4th & 2nd in the races...beating "team mate James Haydon in both races AND setting the fastest lap on two wheels EVER,around Castle Combe...and all this on a bike he'd never riden before... Shortly after that,Cresent stitched him up like a kipper. But more about that another time. . .

:ten: :ten: To BIKESNOOPY.......man, that is deeply sad,. frustrating and mind numbingly unfair ....But also absolutely fascinating. I had no idea those kind of unfair stunts were being pulled Don't know about anybody else, but I am now hooked and will need BIKESNOOPY'S INSIDER GUIDE (B.I.G) news on a regular basis now....... :slobr: :slobr: Fantastic stuff

(& they dont want to get beaten up by a privateer racing on 5% of their budget). and did'nt think for a minute than this type of Totally unfair racing doesnt go on in classes higher up the scale, WSB ...... MotoGP. Why is it the the all mighty Honda HRC bikes, no matter who is riding them, are always (accept in the rain, which we all know is a great leveler), they are always on the top 3 rows. £££££ and $$$$$$ speak volumes and move you up the grid and the pit lane. Now dont jump on me back fellas, but take a look at Rossi, switching from Honda to under performing Yamaha, dont tell me Rossi fond it "a challenge" , what happened to Rossi saying he would never race with a Tobacco sponsor as he left Honda, and Yamaha was trying to find BIG Money to back him. Rossi knew that money talks, and buys you the things he was used to, like being TOP DOG, having Jerry Burgess at his side, and the rest of his "entourage" with him, top mechanics, top tyre people, top engineers, ect ect. Iam not saying Rossi is not a God on a bike, he is. .........but. and all this gives us more reason to hail James for battleing on against the likes of the Big Money boys like Crescent Susuki. Its very easy to support/follow the Big Teams.....(Football, Car GP, MotoGP, ect) but arnt the British famous for helping the underdog ....................................... sometimes.
