Was just talking to young James Buckingham. Last weekend at the final official BSB test at Snetterton, his head gasket blew & with no spare bike or motor,it was home time. This weekend, its the first round of the 2006 championship...but again,James is home again. Free practice 2,his newly head gasketed engine dropped a valve and BANG! With no spare motor or bike and NO help or advice from Cresent/Rizla etc(as usual)it was home time again. Its such a shame he is unable to start the defence of his 2005 Privateers Championship this weekend. Money...its all about money. . .

Damn!! what rotten luck. You're right, it is all about money, which is a great shame and makes you wonder just how many talented sportsmen and women (not just motorcyclists) miss out on the recognition they richly deserve simply because their pockets aren't deep enough.

Just chatting to James. It seems that his engine blow up was terminal,so guess what...he's been in negotiations with Paul Bird about running Michael Rutters Macu winning & BSB contending Fireblade for the rest of the season. It seems that the bike has been sent to Harris Performance to be set up for James,so after 3 years on GSXR1000's it looks like a switch to Honda. Watch this space!

Well,i just spent the last two hours helping to remove Stobart stickers from 3 sets of fairings. Lots of work to do in a week on this Fireblade. Had it Dynoed yesterday at Harris & it came up with 203bhp at the wheel...a few down on the GSXR1000,but he should get that back with a bit of mapping. He's well stoked!!!
