Howdee partners, ive recently joined the rex pack and have had a good read through the tech help tips for iron beast ! very helpful mite i add !! but i would like to put forward a question of my own. Whilst in smooth flow or stood at junction, if the need arises to pull away swiftly in either 2nd or 1st- my little leven tends to produce a rattle from clutch basket- and more or less the same time a whinge on clutch lever release !?. The bike is due a service about now ( performed by yours truly)- just wondered wether i should dive a tad deeper and check the internals for wear and tare?? Much appreciated for any suggestions...

:hello: and welcome to the site Godzilla.
According to the mechanic at my local Kwak dealer I spoke to a while back on another clutch related issue, the ZRX clutch is usually trouble free. One problem that he has seen on a couple of occasions isn't actually caused by the clutch
Inside the clutch housing is also the alternator drive chain. The tensioner for this has been known to foul with the clutch when disengaged. This is usually evidenced by scoring and marks on the tips of the steel plates.
Remedy: replace the tensioner.

Is the REX new or used? If used, how old is your REX and how many miles/kilometres? Any idea on the servicing history?
Need more info. . . .
