When i eventually get my Rex back in one piece again,i was toying with the idea of a twin exhaust. Now i realise a ZZR system wont go straight on,but any one know if the headers would be somewhere near? I could sort the back bit out later.

The top part ought to be the same as it fits to the same engine. Don't know where the bottom end of the headers attach on the ZZR though. You may find yourself having to fabricate mounts for it, and almost certainly will on the left hand side. Looking at the arrangement on the ZZR itself would be the place to start. Bernard has the ZZR1100 so may be of more help.

Moving on from my original question, weve established that ZZR1100 headers will physically fit the eneine block(as should GPZ9/1000RX/ZX10/GPZ1100 headers),but as its a 1200 motor, will the 1100 headers still fit or am i looking at finding a 2nd hand set of ZZR1200 headers?

The 1100 and 1200 share the same cylinder block castings whether ZZR or ZRX so the external dimensions are all the same for all models. Effectively they should all be interchangeable. It'll be the rear mounting points that'll cause you grief if anything.

Just to throw the proverbial spanner in the works. How are you gonna mount the left hand can to match the right. Hint: footpeg hanger.

Well,i rekon that if i gotta "engineer" making a pair of cans fit to the headers & around the frame...making up a pair of matching brackets to hang the cans from is the least of my worries. It is still in the "thinking about it " stage anyway. . . still trying to work out if its feasable...
